The story behind Studio Zolie

About Sharona

The name Studio Zolie is made up of the names of my two daughters. They are an important part of who I am and of the choices I make.

Sharona Smit, pedicurist at Studio Zolie in Haarlem

In 2025 I decided to change course and retrain as a pedicurist. After years of working in marketing, I realised I was looking for something that would truly fulfil me. I wanted work in which I could mean something to others, help people and, at the same time, go to work with pleasure.

In February 2026 I earned my diploma as a pedicurist. A lovely milestone, but for me above all the start of something new. I believe in doing meaningful work in which I can use my strength: being there for others and helping people.

My family also played an important part in my choice. As a mother of two daughters, I appreciate being able to combine my work flexibly with family life. That way I can be there for the people who matter most to me.

On the way to medical pedicurist

During my training I did placements with several medical pedicurists in Haarlem. There I discovered how much satisfaction I get from treating feet that need a little more attention and expertise. I also saw at first hand how great the need for medical pedicurists is: the number of people with diabetes and rheumatism, for example, keeps growing, while the number of medical pedicurists keeps shrinking.

That is what convinced me to keep learning and develop into a medical pedicurist.

At Studio Zolie one thing is central: doing meaningful work and truly making a difference for my clients. With attention, personal care and a treatment tailored to what your feet need.
